Project Value:

£1,300,000

Project Description:

Accord’s ground breaking development of compact modular homes in the West Midlands. 14 single person occupancy dwellings, with a bathroom & kitchen “H-Pod” design all manufactured in our factory This scheme included all white goods and floor coverings in kitchens, bathrooms and hallways, off street parking, cycle ports and Electrical Charging Points (ECP) for electric vehicles. The scheme was designed, manufactured and constructed from our MMC Centre of Excellence in Aldridge for Accord Group and paves the way for a new approach to providing single person social housing. Demand was so high that all 14 units were occupied on the day of handover. Accord chief executive Dr Chris Handy added: “This new method of construction opens up great potential. We are excited to see how the use of prefabricated pods can be expanded to offer a quick, low cost, low carbon solution to providing housing, especially on smaller plots such as former garage sites.”

Timescales:

9 months, including civils (ground works needed to be pile driven and calked due to brownfield site and mining complications).
