The keys have now been handed over to the first occupants in our new development on Balds Lane, Lye.
Working with Owl Partnerships, under a design and build contract, we are transforming the former site of Jubilee Works on Balds Lane into 89 affordable homes.
The development will comprise 35 houses and 54 apartments all of which will be available for an affordable rent.
Our Head of Development Mike Nolan said: “I am delighted to see that the first customers have moved into their new homes on Balds Lane. Our development in Lye is catering to a variety of local housing need by providing a range of homes including one and two-bed apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses. This is an excellent use of a brownfield site, replacing vacant industrial units with high quality new affordable homes.”
The housing scheme is well connected by public transport having the No9 bus route running close by with services to Stourbridge and, in the opposite direction, to Halesowen and Birmingham. Lye Rail Station is less than a mile away and provides connections to Kidderminster, Worcester and other parts of the Black Country.
Mr Ricki Phillips who recently moved into his new home on Jubilee Drive said: “I really like my new place it’s got everything you need on the doorstep: buses, shops and the countryside not too far away as well. The last few weeks have flown by while I’ve been settling in.”

It’s fantastic to see the first residents move in and I’m thrilled to hear that they like their new homes.”
Our new development on Balds Lane is well located with amenities on Lye High Street just a ten-minute walk away and the incoming residents will have a supermarket within a mile of their new home.
All the new homes at Balds Lane, will be built using low carbon LoCaL Homes Eco-100 off-site construction panels, which will reduce construction times on site, and achieve savings overall in terms of carbon release.

Construction of the homes at the Balds Lane development is expected to be complete by Autumn 2023.
