The Croppings is a new development of sustainable homes located in the sought-after garden village of Lightmoor in Telford. The Croppings is an exciting new development providing a collection of two and three bedroom homes built from our traditional timber frame system in partnership with Jessup.

The homes are constructed from our traditional low carbon open timber panel the Eco-100. The system is comprising of 100mm studs sheathed on the external face with oriented strand board, then filled with environmentally friendly and fire resistant wool insulation. The outside of the panel has been externally completed with traditional brickwork and render.

Our low carbon timber frame system provides design flexibility, as part of The Croppings development there are 8 different house designs varying in style and character, ranging from two bedrooms to four.

The Croppings is part of a wider development of Lightmoor Village which will feature 1,000 new homes. It has been developed through a joint venture between Bournville Village Trust and Homes England and is also home to a primary school, nursery and retail units. Lightmoor has become a sought after area with more than half of the village being made up of parks and other open spaces.

The development also features a number of sustainable features, such as solar panels, rainwater harvesting systems and electric car charging points. These features help to reduce the environmental impact of the homes and make them more sustainable in the long term.
The Croppings will be made up of 96 homes for first time buyers looking to get onto the property ladder and families in need of affordable homes to rent. Jessup has agreed a sale to housing association GreenSquareAccord which will form a housing co-operative for residents at The Croppings 2 in partnership with Bournville Village Trust.

Pete Richmond, Chief Executive of Bournville Village Trust, said: “These final two developments are much more than just a key milestone for Lightmoor, they signal the completion of one of Telford’s most significant housing developments of the last decade.
“Combined they will create hundreds of new homes for affordable rent and sale, helping to build an inclusive and mixed communities which will complement the wider Village.
“We are really pleased to be working with Homes England, Jessup Brothers, LoCaL Homes and GreenSquareAccord to deliver the final part of Lightmoor and to be doing this despite the challenges of COVID-19.”
